Cancer and the Law Educational Seminar

Co-Hosted by the Sisterhood of Survivors

  The Cancer Legal Resource Center (CLRC) and the Sisterhood of Survivors invite you to join us for an educational seminar about Cancer and the Law. This free seminar is open for anyone affected by cancer – patients, survivors, caregivers, advocates, and healthcare professionals.

 CLRC Staff Attorney, Jamie Ledezma, will provide an overview of issues faced by women with breast health needs and available health care and insurance options.  All attendees will receive a free copy of the CLRC’s customized and comprehensive:  

Guide to Navigating Breast Health Care Options 

in  

 Fresno County

We will also discuss common cancer-related legal issues, including: employment rights and reasonable accommodations in the workplace; taking time off work; and access to disability insurance and government benefits, such as Medicare, Medicaid, SSI, and SSDI.

Hi Everyone,

Good news! 

2012 will be a truly exciting and challenging year for S.O.S.  We need to grow our volunteer base  so we can expand our efforts.   The new formation of the committees completes the organizational plan.  Each committee has a Chairperson who will hold monthly meetings and report committee activities at the Planning Committee.  If you did not attend January's meeting, please try to attend the February meeting which will be at 5:30, on February 13th at the Saint Agnes Cancer Center.  Contact Janet Ames, 696-6525,

 .  She is our Membership Committee Chair.  She will help you select a committee which will welcome you as a volunteer member.

The second component of the plan is having an office.  The Board approved a trial year.  We will move in on February 15th.    Just like a new bride, our office has needs.  I am going to provide a "wish list" and if you have anything to contribute, it will be most welcome.   Also, I have volunteered to decorate and organize the new office.
